We’ve just launched the new Cymatics Community website!
www.cymatics.co.uk
The site pulls together all the most prominent researches, artists and scientists in the field.
It’s an ongoing labor of love for a growing collective of people around the world!
We want everyone and anyone to be involved, so if you want to help, edit, administer and or submit research, thoughts, art, music or similar let me know.

Hi Evan,
I just watched the presentation you gave at Ted – my first formal introduction to Cymatics. I always think and speak about the visualization of sound and people think I’m crazy most of the time! Glad to see that there are other people completely fascinated by sound and what we can still learn from it.
I did a project here with my roommates that I found extremely interesting. Each of my roommates listened to their favorite song repeatedly while painting (not a scene but an expression of thought with any stroke they felt was right as they listened to the song). The results were truly incredible and I was able to make certain justifications for color, stroke length, and other things that seemed to fit in with the personality and character of each roommate.
Instead of using technology they used their brains and the results were very interesting, clearly more variables in this sort of visualization but very cool.
If you visit my website for fixed gear bikes, you will see that it is a popular community. I may be of some assistance in developing your community. http://www.fixedgearrepublic.com
Cheers,
Greg

Hi Greg the experiment you did sounds fascinating. Synesthesia is an area close to my heart. Do you have your project in a form we could put on the site?

Let me know more about how I can contribute!

Might cymatics be responsible for phenomena such as crop circles?

Evan,
I thought your presentation on TED was phenomenal. I just wanted to throw something out there – I have heard that the meditative chanting of “OM” is an attempt at replicating the sound made when the universe was created. I’m not sure if you’ve tried to recreate it through cymatics, but it might be an interesting experiment to check out.
Keep doing what you do! I hope to see you again on TED with the next big thing.

I’m an artist working in Canada. My next project involves extending sign language into a full body expression through dance. I’m intrigued by the possibilities of making sound/music/language visible for an audience – for both a deaf and hearing audience.
I’m plotting this with a reknowned modern dancer Margie Gillis, as well as a sign language translator and dancer, taiko drummers, a deaf artist, a Japanese calligrapher.
Is there anyone working on cymatics in my neck of the woods who might have some interest in such an exploration?
Thanks.
Johanna

hey, im a painting student at VCU in Richmond VA. your TEDTalk of cymatics really blew my mind wide open to all of the possibilities that cymatics contained and i really want to explore it within my art. luckily VCU offers a grant program that enables students to explore things that they otherwise would not have been able to. i am intending to apply for the grant, which is due nov 6th, so i can investigate cymatics with the intention of including it in a large scale kinetic piece. i was wondering if you had any advice. i really want to add to the language cymatics has created in the art world instead of repeating things that have already been accomplished. If i get this grant, i really want it to add to the current dialect that you have going through the Cymatics Community site. – thanks so much, Ash.

Evan,
Watched your talk on TED… is was great, concise and to the point.
I’m always looking for hard evidence to support the Sound and Vibrational healing work I provide full time with ancient Himalayan Singing Bowls in South Florida http://www.SingingBowlGuRu.com .
The over tones created with the Acutonics Tuning Forks, Rare Earth Crystal and ancient Himalayan Singing Bowls lock in at a body cell memory level releasing and relaxing stored energy while balancing and aligning the chakras.
Thank you for your portal of on-going research.
